The opening batsman and team captain blasted an unbeaten 107 for South Coast Association in the under-12s Southern Zone rep match against Highlands at Welby Park.
In a day to remember, 12-year-old Jack blasted 17 boundaries in his match-winning ton, then took 2-7 off three overs, plus a catch in South Coast's 53-run win.
So dominant was McDonald that he batted through the South Coast's 40-overs innings of 174, with the next highest score 16.
While young players have made centuries in other associations in under-12s rep games, it was the first time a South Coast player had made a ton.
Proud dad Darryl said Jack works hard at his game and plays up a grade in under 14s for Shellharbour in the regular Saturday competition.
Jack's leadership qualities have also been recognised at his Shell Cove Public School, where he is school captain.
Shell Cove advanced to the final eight of the NSW PSSA competition.
Meanwhile, talented Illawarra and South Coast juniors can play for their association in various representative competitions in the first step along the pathway to representing NSW Country and then NSW in juniors.
The Southern Zone junior rep program runs over four weeks in November with the various associations playing round-robin one-day games.
In their round-two match last Sunday, Shoalhaven beat South Coast in under 12s by six wickets.
South Coast were bowled out for 86, with Shoalhaven reaching the target in the 32nd over.
