Port workers were determined the ministers would be in no doubt what they thought about privatisation plans for jobs and the Illawarra economy, particularly as the port was running profitably.

The Illawarra will receive only $100 million from the privatisation of Port Kembla, even if it generates a windfall well above early forecasts.
