Hawks management revealed via the club’s website that a large portion of seating on the eastern side of the 6000-seat venue would be ‘‘curtained off’’ for the remaining nine home games.
No similar alterations have been made since the Hawks moved from the Snakepit to the WEC in 1998.
‘‘In a move that will help continue the electrifying game night atmosphere, the club and WIN Entertainment Centre have decided to reconfigure the venue,’’ the Hawks announced on their website.
‘‘By bringing Wollongong’s passionate fans closer together, the move will help intensify the overall atmosphere, while also creating great new seating options.’’
A diagram of the new seating arrangement is on the Hawks website.
A game between the NSW Police and NSW Ambulance Service will be played as a curtain-raiser to the main game on Friday night as part of the Hawks’ acknowledgement of Emergency Services. Plenty of tickets are available.
