Port Kembla Hospital staff will hit the road again to promote HIV awareness.
By riding Harley Davidsons from Port Kembla to Bega, the four men hope to remind other "ordinary blokes" about the importance of getting tested for HIV.
Last year was the first time Dale Holland, Dave Candy, Geza Belley and Peter Schmidt took a 700-kilometre road trip, from Wollongong to Bega and back, to remind other ordinary blokes about HIV, the importance of getting tested and how to find help if they have any concerns.
This year's bike ride starts from Port Kembla Hospital on Thursday morning and continues on Friday, November 28.
Illawarra Sexual Health Service director, clinical associate professor Katherine Brown, praised the initiative, which took a fun approach to a very serious health message.
About 10,500 people are living with HIV in NSW - with more than 100 of those in the Illawarra.
An annual report by University of NSW's Kirby Institute said about 26,800 people were now living with HIV in Australia, although about 14 per cent of them didn't know they had it.
The report also showed about 60 per cent of people with HIV in Australia were being treated, compared with about 25 per cent in the US.
World AIDS Day is on December 1, and a number of activities are planned in the Illawarra to mark the event.
