The Hawks want to acknowledge the work done by the SES, NSW Police, NSW Ambulance Service and NSW Fire and Rescue and have organised a special half-time presentation.

A curtain-raiser game between police and ambos will be played before the main match.

Hawks marketing and business development manager Courtney Beaton said the club was proud to support Emergency Services.

‘‘The work these people do is grossly underestimated and as a club we couldn’t be more willing to get behind such a great group of people,’’ Beaton said.

‘‘There is a real sense of friendly rivalry and banter between each of them, so it’ll be great to see them go head-to-head on a few different levels and compete for bragging rights.

There will also be emergency vehicles at the game night  to give people the chance to see first-hand the technology and gear the services are equipped with to do their jobs, he said.

‘‘We’re entering what is, from all reports, going to be a hot, dry summer and, as the silly season gears up, so does the work of the Emergency Services. 

‘‘Paying tribute to them on Friday night is not only a chance to recognise and raise funds for the great work that they do, but it’s also a timely reminder to people to be safe over this period.’’
