Santa Claus popped into the Wollongong shopping centre on Friday, ahead of his official arrival parade on Sunday.
This weekend marks the start of the month-long Christmas on Crown festival, which includes performances by X Factor finalist Dean Ray, Circus WOW and Looney Tunes.
Several Wollongong schools will also take to the mall to perform a range of Christmas carols, along with shows from The Grinch and Bananas in Pyjamas.
Pets are also invited to join in the fun for a special snap with Santa.
Destination Wollongong general manager Mark Sleigh said this year’s activities aimed to build on the positive feedback to last year’s event.
‘‘Wollongong is a dynamic city that is continuing to grow, and with the recent revitalisation of the mall and shopping arena, we have the perfect location to showcase all the talent Wollongong has to offer,’’ he said.
The arrival parade kicks off on Sunday from 11am.
Santa will be available for photos until Christmas Eve from 10am to 4pm daily and through to 7pm on Thursdays.
