Recent extensive renovations to its outdoor area will be put to good use this Sunday when Corrimal Anglican Church hosts the inaugural Big Outdoors Christmas Carols.
A petting zoo and sausage sizzle will feature during the December 7 carols, starting at 4pm.
Event organiser Carol Esdale said the church was looking forward to hosting its first outdoor carols.
"We are able to have this event thanks to recent extensive renovations to our outdoor area, which we funded from a government grant," she said.
"The grant was given to us as we hold many community groups in this area, including playgroup and children's groups. The area that has been renovated now provides great access to the disabled, aged and children."
Mrs Esdale and Lenora Carney also co-ordinate Corrimal Public School's annual Carols by Candlelight.
The school's fifth annual fun-filled family evening of carol singing will be held this Friday, December 5. Entry is free, with music to be provided by the Anglican Church band and Corrimal school choir.
A delicious barbecue of sausages, steak sandwiches and corn cobs, as well as coffee, ice-creams and LED candles, will be sold on the night. This year the ever-popular cake stall is included.
Those who attend are asked to donate food or toys to the Toys 'n' Tucker Anglicare Appeal. Festivities will run from 5.30pm-8.30pm. Entrance to the event is via Wilga Street.
