Philip Clifford, 62, who has twice contested the federal seat of Cunningham, has been confirmed as the Liberal candidate for Keira, where the Woonona resident will challenge incumbent Ryan Park.
As expected, 26-year-old Flinders resident Mark Jones will be the Liberal candidate for Shellharbour, where he will challenge Anna Watson in what is one of the safest Labor seats in NSW.
Mr Jones, an accountant at Wollongong heath fund Peoplecare, is involved with groups such as Shellharbour Sharks Rugby League Club, the Shellharbour Cricket Club and Warilla Business Chamber.
Cameron Walters, 21, will contest the seat of Wollongong.
Mr Walters is a Mount Kembla resident and works for a logistics business, which his parents started. He is a University of Wollongong commerce student and state champion racing car driver.
Who Mr Walters challenges will be decided on Saturday when the Labor Party holds its preselection ballot for the seat at Cringila.
Minister for the Illawarra John Ajaka gave all three Liberal candidates a chance in the traditionally strong Labor seats.
