Sponsored by Wollongong City and Bulli Surf Lifesaving clubs, the clinic aimed to rekindle participation in junior surf sports competition following a fall in numbers in recent years.

Eckstein is arguably the greatest ironman in the sport's history after winning five world titles, six Australian titles and an incredible eight Kellogg's Nutri-Grain titles.

Supported by top Queensland surf sports coach Dan Norton-Smith and local surf lifesaving figures, the clinic was for boys and girls aged under 10s to 17s and covered nutrition, recovery and training tips for board, swim, beach flags and sprint events.

Eckstein finished a disappointing third overall at the opening round of this season's Kellogg's Nutri-Grain series in Western Australia and is determined to improve in the rest of the series.

All juniors at the clinic had a great time with their registration, including lunch, plus a gift bag courtesy of the event sponsors.

Bulli will host Eckstein for another clinic in February to run alongside an association carnival on the same weekend.
