Wollongong Homeless Hub has moved into its new premises, with a few new tricks up its sleeve.
The hub, a central help point for the homeless, began on Crown Street to give access to social and tenancy information.
Hub manager Julie Mitchell hopes the larger space at 24 Kenny Street will give an accordingly larger community benefit once it opens on December 18.
"We'll run more outreach services and we're hoping more social services will come," Ms Mitchell said.
She said Centrelink, multicultural services and tenancy advice services would regularly meet clients at the hub.
The hub offers access to computers and phones, and Ms Mitchell said she also hoped to begin operating tutoring services.
"They can check out properties, use online banking, or access online government services," she said.
The hub missed out on funding under recent homelessness reforms, but won a smaller pool of funding until January 2016.
Ms Mitchell is now looking for sponsors or donations to keep the venture operating.
The new premises were secured on reduced rent, donations are coming in and supporters have donated a bounty of canned food and toys for Christmas.
The biggest additions, however, are outside; a free shower and laundry for clients to use, and a free breakfast program.
