The closure will affect the southbound lanes of Memorial Drive between the Princes Highway and North Wollongong and Princes Motorway at Gwynneville.

The lanes will be closed from 8pm on Monday to 5am on Tuesday, to allow Roads and Maritime Services crews to repair damage under the University Avenue bridge after it was hit by a vehicle.

Detours will be in place, with motorists diverted along the Princes Highway and Old Mt Ousley Road.

Electronic message signs will be in place to inform motorists about the work and available detours.
