The students, along with teachers, are visiting Sydney for an excursion as part of end of year celebrations.
There are a number of stops planned for the group, including seeing Channel 7's Sunrise program being filmed this morning.
The group were in Martin Place where the Channel 7 studio is located.
They are now believed to be near Circular Quay.
Principal Neil McCann said one of the teachers at the excursion phoned very soon after the siege began to let him know everyone was fine and they were no longer near Martin Place.
"They are all fine, they are out of the area," Mr McCann said.
"The teacher phoned straight away and we are in the process of letting all the families know."
