Wollongong's scenic foreshore area will again be the place for New Year's Eve celebrations in the city.
Sticking to a tried and tested formula, the family-friendly, alcohol-free event on Wednesday, December 31, will feature amusement rides, basketball, fireworks, music and food.
The Wollongong council-run celebrations will be held at Belmore Basin from 6pm to 10pm, with highlights including live music from the City of Wollongong Brass Band and a spectacular fireworks display at 9pm.
Wollongong Hawks players will sign autographs and meet fans following their match against the Perth Wildcats at WIN Entertainment Centre.
The amusement rides in Lang Park will also be open on New Year's Day.
Those attending New Year's Eve celebrations are being encouraged to catch the train to Fairy Meadow, North Wollongong or Wollongong stations and then jump on the free Gong Shuttle Bus.
There will be road closures on Cliff Road, Harbour Street, Old Court House Lane and the Harbour access ramp off Endeavour Drive on December 31, 5pm to 10.15pm.
