The 45-year-old man was preparing for morning paper deliveries at the Bomaderry Newsagency in Meroo Street at 1.30am on December 12 when two men entered the business, producing a knife and threatening him.
The employee was restrained by the alleged offenders who demanded money, assaulted and threatened with accelerant and a lighter.
The offenders rummaged through the business and managed to escape with a small quantity of cash.
The man freed himself and contacted police.
A crime scene was established and the alleged victim taken to Shoalhaven Hospital for medical treatment.
It’s not the first time the business has been the target of robbers - it is believed to be the fifth time in 13 years it has been held up.
There was a robbery in June last year, another 15 months prior to that and hold-ups in 2007 and 2002.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen anything in the area at the time or who may have any information regrading the incident to come forward.
They can contact Nowra Police on 4421 9699 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
