Although not surprising for this time of year, bumper-to-bumper traffic began building along the Princes Highway from about 11am, as southbound queues grew to 4.5 kilometres at the usual Albion Park Rail and Berry pinch points.
By about 1.30pm, motorists were being treated to a relatively smooth run through Albion Park Rail, but 8.5-kilometre queues meant those heading south at Berry had 45 minutes added to their trip.
Drivers on the Kings and Princes highways on approach to Batemans Bay also experienced delays.
