The South Pacific Carnival knockout rounds begin on Tuesday with the fours semi-finalists to be decided after up to three rounds at headquarters Towradgi Park Bowling Club.
The 23 sectional winners from Saturday's opening day will look to continue their good play and book a place in Saturday's semi-finals.
Host club Towradgi, along with Wiseman Park, Dapto Citizens and visiting Taren Point all have two teams into the post-sectional round with seven composite teams among the section winners.
A number of prominent bowlers will be looking to skip their teams to within one more win of the final by the end of Tuesday's play, including representative stars Jeremy Henry (Warilla), Shane Garvey (Wiseman Park) and David Axom (Taren Point).
Tom McCauley and his Dapto Citizens team pulled off one of the biggest wins of their career by beating Australian bowls coach Steve Glasson's talented team to claim a section win.
McCauley takes on Taren Point's Wayne Smith for a place in the last 16, while in all Illawarra-based matches, Towradgi's Wes Falconer faces Thirroul's Darryl Webster and Wiseman Park's Robbie Warren takes on Citos' Ben Ford.
Nine sectional winners have a bye in the morning round and are through to the last 16, with Ian Baird (Kiama) taking Reagan Marmont (Corrimal), Matthew Crawford (composite) facing Rod Taylor (Dapto), Garvey (Wiseman Park) vs Rod Busst (Towradgi) and Peter Ellem (Fairy Meadow) vs Matt McIntyre (composite) for a quarter-final spot.
Lee Smith and his Oak Flats partners are also just a win away from the quarter-finals and take on the winner of the morning match between Albion Park's Mark Walton and Brian Davies' composite side.
Tuesday's call of the cards is 9am.
