The last festival in 2013 left hidden artwork for people to discover down Wollongong's lane ways and on the sides of buildings.
Renowned mural artist Smug transformed the beige concrete of Myer's Crown Street building into an intricate portrait that covered two storeys during the last event.
Festival organiser and Verb Syndicate founder Simon Grant is desperately seeking more bare walls and buildings to use as canvases for the 2015 festival.
"We're in the process of planning Wonderwalls 2015 and we're currently looking for any walls in the CBD that could be used as part of the event," he said
"We're looking for quality not quantity with the main criteria being uninterrupted access, so not blocked by trees or signs and with lots of open space."
Organisers are seeking 10 to 15 spaces matching that description of all shapes and sizes with preference given to those close to the Wollongong CBD.
The festival will attract international and national marquee artists but remains committed to giving local artists a place on the program.
"It's not just about artist exposure, for me it's more that the city really needs the art, the vibrant colours," said Grant.
