Residents can help raise funds for motor neurone disease research at a movie screening at Greater Union Shellharbour next Wednesday.
The Theory of Everything is the extraordinary story of one of the world's greatest minds, renowned astrophysicist Stephen Hawking, who was diagnosed with MND in his early 20s.
The film follows the love story between Hawking and fellow Cambridge student Jane Wilde who sticks by him as he embarks on his most ambitious scientific work.
University of Wollongong MND research Justin Yerbury will be a special guest at the January 28 screening.
MND NSW Illawarra ambassador Donnamaree Gasparrini, said they were working to generate awareness and share insight into the condition.
All proceeds from the night will go to MND NSW research and support for sufferers, such as wheelchairs and iPads. There will be merchandise sales, raffles and prizes. The Central Hotel Shellharbour will stay open until midnight for a chance to talk about the movie.
The film screens from 6.30pm on January 28.
Tickets cost $25.
