Twirl chocolate bars were the weapon of choice in an odd assault-cum-robbery at a Wollongong convenience store last Thursday night, a court has heard.

Police allege Deanna Lisa Findell, 37, repeatedly threw the confectionery items at the attendant at the Coles Express service station on Corrimal Street, while threatening her verbally.
Findell appeared in Port Kembla Local Court on Friday charged with a single count of assault with intent to rob over the incident.
Police documents shown to the court at Findell's bail application said she walked into the store around 11.45pm, heading towards the counter, then diverting towards the ATM.
Findell is alleged to have walked to the counter and threatened the woman, before taking and throwing several Twirl bars at her.
Findell then allegedly tried to get into the console area through the door, demanding the till.
When this failed, Findell allegedly threw more bars at the operator, as well as a bottle of baby oil and the eftpos card unit.
Findell eventually left and was picked up by police a short distance away.
In court on Friday, the magistrate, Graham Blewitt, granted Findell bail, subject to strict conditions.
The case will return to court on March 18.
