The search is on to reunite toddler Pippa Hennessey with her lifelong companion after they were separated earlier this month.
Two-year-old Pippa was with her mother, Linda, at Westfield Warrawong shopping centre on Friday, January 9, when she lost her one-of-a-kind, handmade stuffed seagull toy.
While the two were separated more than two weeks ago, the Berry toddler is still confident that it's only a matter of time before the a reunion occurs.
"The seagull was handmade by a family friend from England, all the grandchildren in the family have one and Pippa has never really gone anywhere without hers, it's been through two hospital admissions with her and it's just really special to her," Mrs Hennessey said.
"She just think's he's gone away for a bit and will be back soon."
"I put something on Facebook about it and the Lake Illawarra Police contacted me and asked if they could put it on their page. We just hope that if somebody saw it and handed it in or picked it up that they can help us get it back to Pippa, it would mean so much to her."
While Pippa waits for the reunion her brother has lent her his seagull.
