A four-year-old girl has died in a car crash in the NSW Southern Highlands as drivers were urged to slow down in the wet conditions.

A 22-month-old boy was also in the car, which was being driven by the children’s mother, who is aged in her 30s.
Emergency crews were called to Balmoral Village after reports that a car had left the road and hit a tree just before 11am on Wednesday, police said.
Both children were transferred to Liverpool Hospital but the four-year-old girl was pronounced dead on arrival.
The mother is being treated for shock.
A NSW Ambulance spokesman says the rain is causing havoc on the state’s roads and reminded drivers to be wary of pedestrians, especially it being the start of the school year.
