Dapto dismissed Wollongong on both days at North Dalton Park and chased down 149 in only 25.5 overs for an eight-wicket victory.

Resuming on day two at 6-123, needing only 15 runs for first innings points, Dapto skipper Dale Scifleet declared at 9-156.

Wollongong again laboured with the bat in their second dig, losing 9-79 to be bowled out for 167 and leaving the visitors needing a quickfire 149 for maximum points.

Scifleet was a clear man of the match after top scoring in both innings, with 44 and 73 not out as the visitors reached a tricky target with eight wickets and 6.1 overs to spare.

"It was a good all-round effort," Scifleet said.

"Wollongong's not the best batting team but it was a flat wicket, so to bowl them out twice was a good effort and everyone made a contribution.

"We have to keep winning to make the semis but this is a good start."

At University Oval, Uni leapfrogged Corrimal into second spot with a 58-run win over Port Kembla.

The Students set up victory on day one, making 8-268, and on day two dismissed Port for 213.

Port opener Daniel Lee (39) top scored, while Murray Crowe (4-69) and Rhys Voysey (3-56) bowled well for Uni.

It was a similar story at Hollymount Park, where Balgownie (282) set up their 70-run win over Northern Districts (212) with impressive first-day batting.

Chris Lawry took 3-19 on debut for Bally, while a defiant Lachlan Dunn (74 not out) made his third half-century of the season for Norths.

Meanwhile, Helensburgh extended their premiership lead with a 15-run home win over Corrimal.

Defending 177, Corrimal were in sight of victory at 6-160, but lost 4-2 to be bowled out for 162.

Tom McDevitt (48) and Hayden Brown (unbeaten 25) put the Cougars in a winning position but four Burgh bowlers - Nathan Marciante, Luke Falkiner, Tom Sinclair and Josh Piper - took two wickets apiece in a great team bowling effort.

Wests and Keira produced the most exciting second day of round nine, with both sides almost claiming an outright win and Wests finishing with first innings points.

Keira managed just 134 and 153, with Wests (161) needing 126 off 32 overs in their second dig for maximum points.

From 0-66 and 2-83, Wests collapsed to be 7-100, with four middle-order batsmen making a pair and Rob Cauduro given out handling the ball from a Jono Cook delivery.

"It was hard to see from my angle but the ball hadn't stopped rolling and he picked it up and we appealed which is our right," said Cook, who had match figures of 9-46.

Wests finished 8-118, leaving Keira two wickets and Wests eight runs short of an outright win.

"It was a game which could have gone either way," Cook added.
