Wheeler, 54, was riding a scooter when he was struck by a Mitsubishi wagon at the intersection of Woolooware Road and Caronia Avenue in Woolooware about 4pm. 

The 59-year-old woman driving the wagon was charged with negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm and not giving way to oncoming traffic during a right turn at an unmarked intersection.

She was not injured in the collision and was taken to Sutherland Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.

She was granted bail in Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday and will reappear in Sutherland Local Court on February 19.

Wheeler, who is on 2GB radio on Saturdays from 6pm to 9pm and appears in infomercials on Network Seven's The Morning Show, was flown to St George Hospital. 

"Glenn has been involved in a very serious incident and the road to recovery is going to be a long one," his family said in a statement. 

"The impact left him with a severed artery in one leg and other significant injuries to various parts of his body.

"There's some bleeding on the brain but scans have come back with encouraging results. He's in an induced coma and his condition is stable."

The Morning Show executive producer Sarah Stinson said: "Glenn is a close and dear part of our team.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with Glenn and his family."
