Momentum is building as the Creative Corrimal Arts Festival begins to come together.
The inaugural festival is scheduled for Saturday, April 18, organised by the Corrimal Revitalisation Action Group (CRAG) and community volunteers.
Organisers are still in search of sponsors as well as any artists or musicians eager to come on board.
The purpose of the event is to showcase artwork while contributing to the community of Corrimal.
The event has been planned as a "moving festival", said event contributor Louise Beaton from Corrimal Region Uniting Church.
"The day will be a mixture of all parts of the community coming together," Ms Beaton said.
"The festival fills a great need in the community and a chance for artists to be appreciated."
The art walking trail will be the main focus - a planned walk through exhibit spaces and workshops.
Project lead Gayle Russell, from the Corrimal Chamber of Commerce and member of CRAG, said not all ideas had been locked down as organisers were still hoping to get more artists involved, as well as local businesses.
The theme is the environment, with artists encouraged to create sculptures or paintings with that in mind.
Event organiser and Corn Mill Art Gallery owner Ken Finlayson will also be hosting talks on buying art as well as exhibiting artwork in his gallery.
