Why did you apply for an IAS scholarship?
I thought the academy's sessions from my past experiences with the program really helped and improved my understanding of the topics reviewed and complemented my training well. I wanted to continue that further education alongside my training in the coming year as well.
Who's your favourite professional athlete and why?
Mary-Anne Monckton [won silver on beam at the Commonwealth Games] would have to be one of my favourite gymnasts as she showed perseverance through hard times and multiple injuries from gymnastics, to being able to compete for Australia on a worldwide stage and win on one of her hardest-worked apparatuses.
If you weren't playing this sport what would you be doing and why?
I would be pursuing my artistic creativity through photography, painting and sketching.
How would you describe yourself in one sentence?
I work hard to achieve the goals I set for myself and like to help others achieve theirs when I can.
What are your plans beyond school?
To further my education and go to university. I also aim to represent my country in gymnastics on a worldwide stage.
If you could live anywhere in the world it would be?
I would be happy to live anywhere as long as it was close to family.
What do you do in your free time?
I like to read, paint, take photos and sketch pictures.
What is your favourite subject at school?
Art.
What is your greatest achievement in your sport so far?
Competing for NSW at the Australian Gymnastics Championships in IDP 8 and placing 2nd on beam, 3rd on floor and 3rd overall.
When did you start playing your sport and how did you get started?
I started levels gymnastics when I was five. Mum could never keep me the right way up.
