Scheduled roadworks on parts of the M1 Princes Motorway and Picton Road went ahead despite Saturday night's rain, and further closures are scheduled for additional work next month.
Roads and Maritime Services regional manager Renae Elrington said the weekend work was spread out over about 20 kilometres and involved 150 staff from various units, including contractors.
Cleaning large road signs and culverts, line marking and the removal of unwanted vegetation were among the jobs completed.
"It's what we call mass action, even though it's minor [maintenance] we need to do it over a length of area," Ms Elrington said.
"We've also got various monitoring systems up on the mountain and we were able to check they are working safely and operating well."
One asphalt crew, scheduled to work on a section of Picton Road, was the only team affected by the wet weather.
Meanwhile, Ms Elrington said work on a southbound truck pull out bay on the M1 near University Avenue was now about 90 per cent complete.
A $450,000 height detection system is being installed to stop heavy vehicles with insufficient clearance going under the bridge.
The M1 will be closed between the Gipps Road overbridge and Bulli Pass from 7pm on March 7 until 5am the following day.
"We've got a few more signs we need to clean [and] there's a little bit more vegetation that we couldn't get to," she said.
Motorists should use Bulli Pass and Memorial Drive.
