Event organiser Ken Garcia said there was a great turnout of friends and family as well as community members.
‘‘The event went really well, I would say we will do another one,’’ Mr Garcia said.
During the Kidney Health Australia event a banner was signed by participants with messages for those they walked for.
‘‘This banner will be hung in the renal unit in Shellharbour hospital as a gesture of support for those undergoing dialysis or waiting for a transplant,’’ Mr Garcia said.
Participants could take part in either a two-kilometre walk or a five-kilometre run and walk along the Warilla foreshore.
Funds raised will go to help support the work of Kidney Health Australia, although the event was as much about raising awareness as it was about raising money.
