The court heard police were later forced to use capsicum spray to subdue Conor Lavan.
The 18-year-old was charged with assault police officer, resist police officer, one charge of common assault and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, in relation to the incidents, which occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Tendered police documents said Lavan, of Johanson Crescent Mangerton, had an addiction to methamphetamine, also known as ice.
The documents said Lavan ran at a Harp Hotel security officer, who was standing at the entry door of the Corrimal Street, Wollongong premises, about 1.35am.
Lavan then began swinging punches in the direction of the bodyguard, forcing him up the stairs and onto a landing.
Lavan was put on the ground and appeared to calm down, documents said.
But then Lavan swung punches towards the face of a second bodyguard, with one of them connecting with the man's left eye causing the skin to split and bleed.
Lavan was restrained by security at the hotel yet he spat blood and saliva at the two bodyguards, the documents said. Police arrived and handcuffed Lavan.
He was then placed on the footpath where he looked up and spat blood and saliva into the face of one of the arresting officers.
Lavan was placed in the rear of a caged police vehicle and taken to Wollongong police station.
"Once at the police station, police attempted to remove the accused from the caged vehicle, however, he lashed out violently with his legs, kicking at police who were attempting to remove him," police said.
"Due to this violence, a short burst of capsicum spray was delivered to the accused."
Lavan will reappear before court on Monday.
