However, those hoping to stay at home have been warned you need a legitimate reason to dodge polling places and vote online.
iVote, which has been operating since the 2011 state election, will again be used when NSW goes to the polls in a month's time.
A spokesman for the NSW Electoral Commission said iVote has been used in every state byelection since it was implemented and the number of people choosing the system had increased.
"We'd be expecting to receive up to 200,000 iVotes for the 2015 election," the spokesman said.
iVote was initially developed to help people who had poor vision or other conditions that affected their ability to cast a vote.
It has since been expanded to include those living more than 20 kilometres from a polling place and people who will be outside NSW on election day.
Legislation requires people must fit into one of several criteria to be eligible to vote remotely.
"For anyone travelling it's a great convenience to them because previously they would have had to get a postal vote," the spokesman said.
"Now, anybody who has got access to the internet can vote," he said.
Once registered, voters use their own code number and one provided by the NSWEC to log in and vote.
"On election night, the ballot box is electronically opened and the votes are entered into the count."
What is iVote?
