NSW Labor leader Luke Foley's hour-long presentation to supporters at the Campbelltown Catholic Club was "rich in rhetoric and low on substance", according to government Deputy Whip and Kiama MP Gareth Ward.
"While the Opposition Leader talked a lot about Sydney and Sydney's needs, it seems he cares little for the Illawarra/South Coast and our needs," Mr Ward said.
"Labor has only concerned itself with Sydney - and their 16 years of neglect in government proves this in spades."
However, Member for Keira and opposition spokesman for the Illawarra, Ryan Park, says it was a statewide launch.
"Luke [Foley] actually mentioned the Illawarra, the Hunter and Central Coast in terms of making sure those key regions get the infrastructure they need," Mr Park said.
"What we did announce [on Sunday] was very important for Illawarra schools; there's going to be an additional $1.3 billion in funding."
The extra school and TAFE money is part of Labor's $10 billion funding plan announced on February 19.
At the weekend, Labor also pledged $9.5 million to train 200 specialist maths and science primary school teachers.
"Our kids are falling behind in terms of maths and science," Mr Park said.
