Wiseman Park Wollongong City took the Illawarra District Open Fours crown and Warilla the Senior Fours title recently and played Southern Highlands Association representative Goulburn Railway for a spot in the state finals.
Both matches had to be transferred from a wet Windang BC to the indoor facility at Warilla BC with the Illawarra teams winning both playoffs.
The Wiseman Park side skipped by Suzanne Wood took an early lead against Dorothy Wilson's Goulburn team and dominated throughout in a 22-11 victory.
It was a much tougher battle between Warilla's Julea Morgan and the experienced Judith Cook in the Senior Fours decider.
Goulburn held a slight led through much of the first half of the 21 end final, leading 11-7 on the 12th end.
But a six to the Warilla ladies on the 18th end turned the match with Warilla taking a never relinquished 17-16 lead.
Warilla went on with the job and booked a spot in the State Finals with a 22-17 victory.
Attention is now on the Illawarra District women's pennant competition, with Warilla the defending Grade 1 champions.
