Los Angeles: Beyond the glitz of Hollywood lies amazing art

It's a balmy winter's day in Los Angeles blessed with T-shirt temperatures and a desert sky. From Olive Hill, some 90 metres above the urban flatlands, there's an unimpeded view of the Hollywood sign bathed in late afternoon sunlight. As I step into the other-worldly interior of Frank Lloyd Wright's Hollyhock House, built at the hill's summit in 1921, I'm struck by the audacity of that billboard.
