The awards have been fine-tuned for 2015, and two people heavily involved in the past, albeit in a different capacity, are now judges.
Former IWIB director and Illawarra Women In Business co-founder Delyse del Turco, of Better Business Banking, is a category sponsor and judge this year.
Better Business Accounting was a previous sponsor, and Mrs del Turco said she was looking forward to continuing to support the awards.
She said the business was sponsoring IWIB Illawarra's Innovative Businesswoman 2015 category and it was going to be very exciting learning more about each business as a judge.
IWIB director Glenda Papac invited Maralyn Young, of Casa Mia Bra Fitting and a post-mastectomy specialist, after her success as an entrant in business award events in the region, state and nationally.
Mrs Papac said Mrs Young's achievements were amazing, and because Mrs Young initially did not think she was good enough to enter the business awards, she was a great inspiration for others who felt the same.
"Our awards encourage women of all ages and levels of business to enter and showcase their businesses and achievements," Mrs Papac said.
Mrs Young said she had already learnt a lot as an entrant and looked forward to judging.
Mrs Papac said all the popular categories were back.
She said the IWIB Awards were about encouraging women to be innovative, to be leaders and succeed in the competitive world of business.
Women were encouraged to enter as part of their business growth and development.
The Illawarra Business Women's Awards are open to all women in the Illawarra, not just IWIB subscribers and members.
Mrs Papac said the Illawarra covered the local government areas of Wollongong, Shellharbour, Kiama and Shoalhaven.
Applications close on March 30 for the Business Woman of the Year, Young Business Woman of the Year, Best Business, Best Small Business, Best Home Based Business, Best New Business, Innovative Businesswoman, Young Achievers Award, Outstanding Commitment to the Community Award and Champion Networker Award categories.
