I have yet to read or hear of public approval of the planned Thirroul car park off Seafoam Avenue.

What bright spark suggested this cheap quick fix to the Transport Minister to the problem she’s created?
I can foresee the need for yet another set of traffic lights in Lawrence Hargrave Drive, for the safe entry and exit for motorists and pedestrians alike at the junction of Church Street.
And parkers will need more than parkas to walk the 600metres in driving rain to or from the station. But at least they’ll have the pleasure of viewing what remains of the roadside gardens created by residents after road-widening and pavement construction are completed.
Politicians and the public should be pushing for a multi-storey car park at Thirroul station if the transport minister doesn’t see fit to rejig the railway timetable for other stations to come back on-line for the benefit of commuters.

The Sandon Point ‘‘manor’’ views/opinions that are based on fears, selfishness or ignorance don’t count. The fears are unfounded.
It’s not the fault of the embassy that the spruikers for Stockland P/L didn’t inform the new residents of the history of the area. What happened to ‘‘buyer beware’’?
If the new residents had done their research well, they’d have known the reasons why the embassy area has been declared a Place of Aboriginal Significance.
The protests against housing development in the area had been ongoing long before the embassy was set up.
To me, the so-called ‘‘manors’’ are an eyesore with little architectural merit, built so closely together it must be awful to live there.
On the other hand, the environmentally well-built embassy fits snugly into its surroundings, at peace with its environment.

NRL 2015. After two rounds, the St George Illawarra Dragons have scored two tries.
Brett Morris has scored three tries. I’m so glad we let him go.

Our federal politicians want our poor old pensioners to have their income tied to the CPI.
The pension is now tied to wage rises and this gives the pensioner too much money that the economy can’t afford.
To make it fair, our federal politicians say an independent body will look at the pensioner’s income every three years to see how they are surviving.
My suggestion is that the independent body that gives our federal politicians their wage rises gives the same rise they get to our pensioners – now that’s fair.
That way we don’t need to pay to do the independent check.
In fact, I think it’s so fair that everyone’s wage should be tied to the pay rises of our federal politicians.

The softening of the current outlaw motorcycle gang legislation in Queensland and Victoria is another example of how far Labor is prepared to descend in order to appease unions mates and the latte-sipping elite.
One only has to recall their failed open maritime borders policy to realise a trending down of OMG legislation will also end in an outpouring of public angst.
