It has been almost five years since her father Jim Demirov lost his battle to motor neurone disease but Shelly-Anne Demirov continues to honour his legacy.
This year Ms Demirov has enlisted some big names for the Walk to d'Feet Motor Neurone Disease, with former St George Illawarra Dragons player Matt Cooper to walk at the Bulli event on Sunday.
Cooper's Dragonfit Training Centre co-owners Josh Miller and Brett Harriott will also take part in the March 29 walk which raises funds for MND NSW. The trio will also run a Superclass at the Wollongong gym, with all proceeds to support MND NSW.
Ms Demirov said she was grateful to Dragonfit for helping her raise awareness and funds for a cause close to her heart.
"Matt and the boys from Dragonfit have such big hearts. They are doing this to support me ... they don't know anyone who has been affected by MND," she said.
At Ms Demirov's first Illawarra walk in 2013, 318 took part, raising $30,990.
In 2014, 350 participants raised over $40,000.
The March 29 walk will start at 10am from Bulli Reserve, Trinity Row, behind the Bulli Surf Club.
The walk is about five kilometres and is wheelchair and dog-on-lead friendly.
Motor neurone disease is a group of diseases in which the nerve cells (neurones) controlling the muscles that enable people to move around, speak, swallow and breathe fail to work normally.
The muscles gradually weaken and waste away.
