Millions of NSW voters will go to the polls on Saturday to elect the government for the next four years.
Electors will be faced with a choice between the current Liberal government, led by the popular premier Mike Baird, and the Labor opposition, with newcomer Luke Foley in charge.
The government wants to lease half the state's power poles and wires to fund a massive infrastructure program. The ALP oppose the privatisation move, saying it will lead to a loss of revenue and electricity price rises.
Mr Foley has proposed a modest spending plan focused on health and education.
In the Illawarra, Labor holds Keira, Wollongong and Shellharbour, while the Liberals have Heathcote and Kiama. Electoral boundary changes have changed margins for both parties.
Election analyst Antony Green has identified Wollongong, held by Labor member Noreen Hay, and Kiama, held by Liberal MP Gareth Ward, among the key seats.
Pre-polling will be available up until Friday, March 27.
On Saturday, polling places will be open from 8am-6pm.
To find a pre-poll centre or polling place, go to votensw.info or call 1300 135 736.
