The most expensive of the projects is fixing a leaky roof and ceiling damage at Wollongong Youth Centre, which will cost $528,000, excluding GST.
The work, which council officers have recommended be awarded to Unanderra builder Piruse Constructions, will include an upgrade to the Burelli Street building's air-conditioning.
Staff have recommended the same builder be awarded the $381,528 tender to refurbish Corrimal Surf Life Saving Club.
A council assessment found the club's facade, lintels and roof sheeting were suffering from severe exposure, as well as water damage and deterioration, which meant significant work was needed to extend the life of the building.
The work includes the removal of asbestos eaves, the replacement of a roller door, the removal of all failing paint finishes, re-rendering and recoating of the entire building as well as fixing the building's concrete cancer issues.
Further north, the first stage of the Grand Pacific Walk is under way, with the council recommending councillors vote to accept a $321,822 tender to build a shared path at Coalcliff.
These works, which connect a newly built pedestrian refuge with the Tom and Norma Williamson Rest Area to the north, and south to the new Stoney Creek Bridge, were not able to be completed with previous Grand Pacific Walk construction. This tender should be awarded to Unanderra civil engineering firm The GC Group Company, staff said.
