She has signed up for the Bravo Team Challenge, a three-day event combining physical obstacles with boot camp, mind and strategy activities.

The event will test Ms Howley's fitness and mental strength, but overcoming her battle with depression and weight should put her in good stead.

Last year Ms Howley made the decision to overhaul her life, buying a Fitbit tracker and starting to walk 10,000 steps per day. She has entered other events but believes the Bravo Team Challenge will truly test her. The challenge will be on April 17-19 across the Illawarra.
