Elye Picciolo is charged with supplying a prohibited drug and possessing a prohibited weapon, after 152 grams of cocaine was found in the Toyota Corolla he was driving.
Police claim they found the stash of drugs in a hidden compartment inside the car.
Officers attached to Sutherland Area Command's proactive crime team pulled Picciolo over at a service station on the Princes Highway about 3pm and carried out the search, which also netted an illegal flick knife, police claim.
All items have been seized for forensic testing.
Picciolo chose not to apply for bail during a brief mention of his case in Sutherland Local Court on Friday.
He was formally refused bail due to the serious nature of the allegations and the fact he was already serving a good behaviour bond at the time. He was remanded in custody to reappear in Central Local Court on May 21.
