Schools and families around the Illawarra marked World Autism Awareness Day on Thursday by wearing a spectrum of colours, in contrast to previous years when Australians were urged to wear blue.
Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) chief executive Adrian Ford said using the spectrum of colours sends an inclusive message about the "different brilliance" of people living with autism.
