St George Illawarra seems to have founds its fire and have now made it three wins on the trot following a dire start to the 2015 NRL season.
The Dragons put the previously unbeaten Newcastle to the sword at Hunter Stadium on Saturday night to hand their supporters an Easter miracle.
It was tough going out on the ground as rain pelted down for most of the 80 minutes.
But the Dragons defence again proved the difference as they kept the Knights scoreless on their home turf.
The only downside for Red V fans may have been the sight of Josh Dugan being helped off the ground late in the match with suspected concussion, but he later passed the cognitive testing in the sheds.
The Knights appeared to have luck - and the wind - on their side when Kurt Gidley collected his own kick-off to start the game.
Both teams looked strong through the middle of the ground but struggled to find points early on.
There wasn't much for the fans to scream about until Tyson Frizell copped a high knock and left the ground in the 14th minute and Tariq Sims was placed on report.
The incident seemed to fire the Dragons up and they scored the opening points of the game in the ensuing set.
Fijian flyer Eto Nabuli slid over to score in the left corner off a Gareth Widdop pass to put him past his defender and hand the visitors a 4-0 lead.
Frizell came back on later in the half with fire in his belly and almost pulled off a remarkable try of his own in the 35th minute.
Dylan Farrell found himself in space and put a deft grubber in, then Farrell somehow won the foot race between about half a dozen players to get to the ball and plant it down one-handed just before the deadball line.
Gavin Badger sent the decision upstairs and the video referee deemed Farrell to have lost the ball before planting it.
Two minutes later Chris Houston was penalised for a high shot on Widdop, who subsequently slotted the penalty conversion to take the score to 6-0. just before the break.
Newcastle again battled to pierce a tough Dragons defensive line in the second half, and the home team wasn't helped by the fact Beau Scott limped from the ground in the 55th minute.
St George Illawarra put the icing on the cake in the 63rd minute when Josh Dugan split the right-edge defence and stretched out to plant the ball on the line.
Widdop nailed the conversion from the sideline to extend the lead to 12-0.
Benji Marshall put away sneaky a field goal in the 71st minute for good measure.
It was just the second time in the past 25 years Newcastle has been held scoreles at home.
The Dragons were presented with the inaugural Alex McKinnon Cup to honour the injured Knights forward in front of a 14,261 crowd.
