The 7th annual golf day to provide TAFE students with practical experience is supporting the Leukaemia Foundation as part of Angels at Work.
Money raised will support local families affected by blood-related cancers.
Working under the name of True Events and using their Facebook page facebook.com/trueevents14, the students had a great response from event sponsors who headed to the Novotel Wollongong Northbeach's newest bar/restaurant, Pepe's On The Beach, for a chance to meet and discuss the coming event.
Present was Nina Field from the Leukaemia Foundation and Angels and new ambassador Steve Melchior, of Just Cruisin Harley Tours.
Mr Melchior led a "car trail" that saw sponsors and vehicles behind one of his Just Cruisin' Trike Tours bikes and the Leukaemia Foundation's patient care vehicle.
Regular supporters of TAFE Illawarra Wollongong students have been the University of Wollongong's Faculty of Business, IMB Better Value Banking, Print Media, Novotel Northbeach and Volcan Ford Wollongong.
Outback Steakhouse and Just Cruisin' Tours are among the latest to assist students.
Mr Melchior was invited to be an ambassador following his fundraising efforts to help the Leukaemia Foundation and Angels at Work over many years.
He has introduced True Events to his community networks and helped organise a major prize that was launched at the sponsors' meet-and-greet morning tea.
A sneak peek of the raffle for the golf day revealed Skydive the Beach and Southern Biplanes were also involved.
Student Tamarah Clarke said she was blown away by the level of support.
