There were suggestions that Frizell should have been sent off for his 50th minute high shot that saw Bulldogs prop Tim Browne stretchered off the field in the Dragon 31-6 victory at ANZ Stadium.
Frizell escaped the more serious charge of a reckless high tackle but was hit with a maximum grade five careless high tackle charge by the NRL match review committee after being replaced on report for the shot. The 23-year-old plead guilty to the charge on Tuesday but will challenge the grading in an effort to play in the Dragons blockbuster clash with competition leaders Brisbane at Kogarah on Friday.
The club has nothing to lose by challenging the grading at the judiciary with Frizell facing two weeks on the sideline regardless of whether the challenge is successful.
