It has been the question on trainers lips along the East Coast for much of the Sydney autumn and, on Saturday, it seems things aren't about to change.
"I just hope they don't get too much rain because I am not sure how she will be on a wet track," South Coast mentor Terry Robinson was also cautious about his promising filly Rose Of Man's chances at Kembla Grange.
With solid rain on Friday and a grim forecast for the weekend, trainers on the South Coast are assured another heavy racing surface.
The torrid run of weather caused the Illawarra Turf Club's most recent meeting (April 4) to be abandoned and consistent overnight rain will put Saturday's card in jeopardy.
For Robinson, who's leading chance is one he considers to have 'plenty of ability', it could be a determining factor in her first start at 1200 metres.
Rose Of Man steps up to class 1 after shedding her maiden tag in stellar fashion by nearly three lengths at Canberra.
"It is a strong race. You have to respect John O'Shea [who has filly unbeaten Subservient engaged] and it is always hard to go from a maiden to winning a class 1," Robinson said.
"They have to be pretty good but she's certainly shown enough ability."
Robinson, however, was forced to re-trial the lightly raced three-year-old at Warwick Farm after her first win.
Rose Of Man shied towards the outside fence in her impressive romp and has a habit of being tardy from the barriers.
"She is still learning to race," Robinson said. "She jumped all right at Canberra and kicked through to lead but, the other day at the trials, she missed it and we had to ride her 'quiet'.
"I wouldn't be surprised if that is the way she is ridden on Saturday.
"She is learning her craft and is a filly that gets a bit stirred up at times.Once she gets a bit more seasoned to it she will be a lot better."
Jay Ford will steer Rose Of Man in the Brodie Long Grew Class 1 Handicap (1200m).
Robinson has Nice And Smart (race four) and Victory At Sea (six) heading to Kembla with Rose Of Man from his Shoalhaven Heads base.
