Kiley Lisa Martin, an assistant to Ms Hay, was so drunk when a police patrol car pulled her over at 2am on March 29 that she was slurring her speech and needed help from officers to remove herself from behind the wheel.
The Bellambi woman was a matter of metres from her home when she caught the attention of police making a wide, left-hand turn off Pioneer Road
In the moments that followed, the police witnessed the 40-year-old stop dead in the middle of the road before making a series of erratic manoeuvres, at one point mounting the grassy kerb.
Martin then drove towards the police vehicle but was quickly stopped by officers, who noticed she was slurring her words and smelled strongly of alcohol.
After fumbling with her licence and failing a breath test, police helped her from her car. Officers noted she continued to stumble and trip on furniture when taken back to Corrimal police station for a further breath analysis.
The results showed Martin had a blood-alcohol level of 0.221, which she attributed to drinking four glasses of wine during the evening.
Martin pleaded guilty to high-range drink-driving at Port Kembla Local Court on Tuesday.
Her matter was adjourned until June 16, to allow for her to complete a six-week educational program for traffic offenders.
