Thirroul embarked on a major development of their junior program a couple of years ago and it is paying dividends after collecting the Club Championship Terry Orvad Trophy for a second straight season.
The Butchers also collected a number of individual honours, highlighted by Owen Kocyan being named the Arthur Couper Trophy winner for under 14s player of the year. Corrimal junior Gyan Wijekulasuriya took home the most prestigious award, the Ron Thompson Memorial Trophy, as the junior cricketer of the year.
Joining Kocyan as the top player in each age division was Corrimal's Kyle Trebel, who earned the Jim Duffy Memorial Trophy as under 16s player of the year, plus Wollongong's Ethan Kohen who collected the Ted Masters Trophy as under 12s player of year.
Corrimal's Nate Ruddock won the Illawarra Junior Cricket Association Trophy as under 11s player of year.
The top batsmen and bowlers from each competition from under 11s to under 16s were also recognised at the presentation day attended by players, parents, supporters and officials.
