Albion Park will receive a shot in the arm when they welcome back talented Australian representative sharpshooter Blake Govers as the club aims to extend its lead in the Illawarra hockey premiership.
Govers is expected to return home and be available to line up against competition dark horse Robertson in the round eight tie this weekend at Croom Road.
The 18-year-old has only just returned from Tasmania where he made his national debut with the Kookaburras at the Hobart International Challenge earlier this month.
He scored a goal on debut to help Australia to a victory over Pakistan.
That achievement followed a fortnight playing in England where he led Wimbledon to victory in the English Hockey League.
Govers has only made three appearances for Albion Park to date this season, but has returned eight goals in the process.
Club coach Steve Mayo is hoping Govers will be available on Sunday.
"I haven't spoken to him but I'm pretty sure Blake Govers is right to play, and that should give us our full complement," Mayo said.
"We haven't played with a full complement all year."
Albion Park scored a confidence-boosting victory over old rival University with an emphatic 5-0 win at the weekend.
It followed a narrow one-goal victory for Albion Park when the two perennial grand finalists last met in round one.
University was missing a handful of players on Sunday due to commitments in Sydney, but Mayo was pleased to get one over the old foe.
"It's always been a pretty good rivalry for the last few years, any win is good but to put five [goals] in was fantastic," Mayo said.
"I think next time we play them might be a bit more difficult. The points were good for us ... it's nice to have a bit of breathing space I guess."
The "breathing space" for Albion Park is now a clear lead over University on top of the Illawarra Hockey ladder.
They will face third-placed Robertson this weekend, who have been in some impressive early-season form.
University will be out to bounce back with a win over Wests when they meet at the Uni on Sunday.
They are expected to line up close to full strength as their unavailable players return.
"You want to bounce back with a good result," Uni coach Nick Jennings said. "We should have a stronger team this week, but looking at their [Wests'] results recently it should be a lot tougher."
