The 84-year-old was feared to have suffered a serious injury when he slipped off the presentation stage and landed head first into the turf at AAMI Park before presenting Melbourne Victory players with their winners medals after beating Sydney FC 3-0. 

Lowy missed a step on the stage when he tumbled and was treated by paramedics for several minutes. An FFA spokesman confirmed Lowy did not suffer any serious injury as a result of the fall. 

"Mr Lowy received treatment from paramedics on the scene and was cleared of any serious injury. He has soreness in the shoulder from the fall but is otherwise ok."

Lowy had earlier been booed by the crowd - they also booed fellow FFA honchos David Gallop and Damien de Bohun - but there was stunned silence throughout the venue as he lost his balance and fell more then a metre.

For about a minute there was nothing said in the official TV telecast as officials rushed to Lowy's aide and the Victory players looked down at him, unsure of his condition. After about a minute warm applause broke out inside the stadium when footage of a smiling Lowy was shown on the big screen, and even a bigger cheer as he was helped back on to the stage.

Despite the hefty fall there was only a two-minute delay before the billionaire patron of the sport was able to present the trophy to Victory coach Kevin Muscat and captain Mark Milligan, and the rest of the squad.
