Hundreds turned out for the Illawarra Italian community's annual Castagne Day festival on Sunday, to celebrate the change of season and indulge in a roasted chestnut or two.
Cael Harrower, 5, had a ball of a time in the Water Walker, while others soaked up the food, music and sunshine in the car park of Fairy Meadow's Fraternity Club.
In keeping with tradition, Alpini Group member Emileo Felli flame-roasted chestnuts.
