The wine fraternity all gathered at Gabbys at Berry to celebrate the success of the event that has become one of the major drawcards for the whole region over the last decade.
Shoalhaven Coast Wine Association President Shayne Bricker thanked everyone who supported the winter wine festival that brings winemakers and food artisans together to showcase the quality produce from the South Coast is becoming famous for.
All present reflected on how far the annual event had come since humble beginnings 12 years ago.
Destination NSW was represented at the launch after describing the Shoalhaven Coast Winter Wine Festival as one of the ‘‘go to’ events in the state.
The NSW Government tourism arm is a gold sponsor of weekend along with Peter Russell, of Integrity Real Estate, and Shoalhaven City which recognises it as a showpiece for the entire region.
Wineries hosting wine festival activities include Yarrawa Estate, Roselea Vineyard, Silos Estate and Wileys Creek, Mountain Ridge Wines, Coolangatta Estate, Two Figs Winery, Cambewarra Estate, Cupitt’s Winery and Bawley Vale Estate.
They all want to provide something for wine and food lovers alike between June 6 and 8.
Mr Bricker said there would be diverse range of activities from degustation dinners, local oyster tastings, home-made pies and soups, barbecues and cheese platters to accompany a wider variety of award winning wine.
There will also be market stalls, live music and entertainment from jazz to rock bands in the vineyards.
Visitors can purchase a commemorative tasting glass at the first winery they visit which entitles them to taste wines at each of the participating wineries.
Tickets on the hop-on-hop-off bus can also be booked by calling Stuart’s Coaches on 02 4421 0332.
